Antique 'Joe' Ventriloquist Dummy. Circa 1920/30's African American ventriloquist doll acquired and used by Seattle singer and ventriloquist Paul Turnidge. Joe measures 39'' with carved wood head and hands, he is wearing wire rim glasses, blue wool flat cap, buffalo check wool flannel over white striped button down, bow tie, jeans, and Victorian child's shoes. Wood box structure and dowel inside. Comes with 1950's Yakima (WA) King's Garden Victory Rally broadside (13x9.75'') where Paul and Joe performed. Also comes with original b&w photograph of Paul with Joe as used in broadside (5x4''). Dummy in excellent working condition with some minor scuffs and chips to head and some hair loss (mostly under cap). Comes with tin litho suitcase style trunk measuring 24x12x7.5''
